Privacy Policy

This page explains what happens to your data when you use Mashashat (mashashat.com, in Arabic: معاشك): what we do not collect, what the Google services used by the site collect, and how you can control it.

What you type into the calculators

The figures you enter (wage, length of service, age and so on) are processed in your browser only. They are not sent to a server of ours and we do not keep them. The site has no accounts or login, and no form asks for your name, phone number or national ID.

E-mail

You can reach us at info@mashashat.com. If you write to us we see your address and your message in order to reply. We do not use them for marketing or share them with anyone.

Visit statistics (Google Analytics)

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are used and to improve the content. It sets cookies in your browser that carry an identifier which does not contain your name, and records with Google:

• the pages you visit, how long you stay and where you came from
• your device type, browser and language, and your approximate location (country or city)
• that you completed a calculation, with the calculator type and country only: not the figures you entered and not the result
• how far you read an article (a quarter, half and so on) and which FAQ question you opened

Google processes this data as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can block measurement by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

The site loads the Google AdSense code. Advertising is how we intend to cover running costs and keep the site free. As of the date above no ad units are displayed on the site yet, but the code is loaded and the following applies to it.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• Our setting on this site: we ask Google to serve non-personalised ads only. Ads are then chosen from the content of the page and your approximate location, not from an interest profile built on your browsing history. Non-personalised ads still use cookies or similar identifiers for purposes such as frequency capping, aggregated ad reporting, and combating fraud and abuse.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising from Google altogether by visiting Ads Settings, and opt out of some other vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
• Ads from other vendors and ad networks certified by Google may be served through AdSense, and they may use their own cookies. Google publishes the list of these ad technology providers with links to their policies; you may visit their websites to opt out of the use of cookies for personalised advertising where they offer it.

Consent message

The site loads Google's consent management platform (Google Funding Choices, now part of Google's Privacy & messaging tools). For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and in other regions whose laws require it, it shows a message asking for your choice about advertising cookies before they are used, stores that choice in your browser and passes it to the advertising services. You can change your choice later by deleting this site's cookies in your browser, after which the message is shown again.

Cookies in use

Our own code sets no cookies. What is stored in your browser comes from these services:

• Google Analytics: measuring visits
• Google AdSense: serving and measuring ads, frequency capping, fraud prevention
• Google's consent platform: remembering your choice in the consent message

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. The calculators work without them.

Other services that receive technical data

• Cloudflare: pages are delivered through Cloudflare's network over HTTPS. Like any hosting provider, Cloudflare processes your IP address and technical request data to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, and may set a short-lived security cookie for that purpose. Cloudflare Web Analytics also loads a small script that reports aggregate page-load measurements; it sets no cookies and does not identify individual visitors.
• Google Fonts: the site's typeface is loaded from Google's servers, which receive your IP address and browser type when the font is fetched.

Your rights

We keep no database of visitors, so there is nothing held under your name for us to export or delete other than e-mail you may have sent us; to have that correspondence deleted, ask at the same address. Data collected by Google is controlled with the tools listed above and in your Google Account settings.

Children

The site is written for workers and retirees. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data about them.

Changes to this policy

We update this page whenever the services used by the site change, and revise the "Last updated" date at the top.
